OUR NEW ZEALAND HIKING AND CYCLE TOURS  

Enjoy a few days away on one of Aotearoa’s best private walkways, the beautiful Kaikoura Coast Track. But first you have the opportunity to choose from a range of optional activities to immerse yourself in local wildlife encounters. Once on the track we will encounter a diverse range of landscapes – from beach to farmland, native bush gullies and stunning hilltop views. Think breath-taking nature, delicious food, great company and all logistics taken care of. And you don’t have to carry a heavy pack either! Join your knowledgeable guide and a small group of fellow nature-loving women and enjoy some coastal bliss. We have set the dates so you can also easily combine this tour with our other hiking tours, if you want to extend the bliss by a few more days and explore some other nearby regions.

This exciting 8-day hiking tour starts in Christchurch and includes two days of hiking bliss along the stunning Kaikoura Coast including rolling farmland, native bush and picturesque gorges. And of course, we enjoy the views of the nearby Kaikoura Mountains as well as the resident sea life encounters. From here we head to the remote Nydia Track in the Marlborough Sounds with its lush coastal and regenerating forest for two days. We enjoy beautiful scenery, great hiking trails and the comfort of a retreat. We finish off with a stunning day walk in Nelson Lakes National Park before we farewell you in Christchurch.

Breathtaking mountain views, native bush and historic sites are just some highlights of this unique walk through the Canterbury High Country, close to Christchurch. Island Hills Station is a working farm with sheep, cattle and most importantly, beekeeping. We can learn more about its fascinating history, including the creation of a protected conservation reserve, in a quaint little museum. This tour requires a bit of fitness and sometimes sure-footedness to fully enjoy the varied hiking trail. At the end of our three days of hiking, we drive to Hanmer Springs for a relaxing soak in the hot pools. Or maybe a massage if you want to indulge? Each of the three track days is different, and combined with interesting places to stay overnight (with hot showers) and the main luggage transported, it becomes a hike to really enjoy the backcountry.

The gorgeous Banks Peninsula (Horomaka) was formed by two giant volcanic eruptions about eight million years ago, which explains the mountainous nature otherwise atypical of the Christchurch area. Nowadays, of course, it has become a mecca for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and dolphin watchers! Included is a boat tour in Akaroa Harbour before we start our hike. On our Banks Peninsula Tour, we experience farmland and forest, hike over an extinct volcano, along coasts and cliffs and through reserves. We enjoy expansive skies and very likely spy penguins, and sea lions hanging out in private bays. We spend three nights in unique and quirky accommodation. Because we have a bit of altitude to conquer, we have marked this as a moderate tour, but it is technically not a challenging tour and thus is also absolutely fine for hiking beginners.

This cycle tour is special as each day is entirely different and unique and offers the best of the West Coast - wild, wonderful and adventurous! Parts of this interesting cycle trail lead us through the rainforest, which is still exceptional and invites us to let our minds and souls wander off. A perfect tour even if you are not an experienced cyclist - yet. Included is the fascinating Treetop Walk where we can admire this special forest from above. You also have the opportunity to cycle the new Kawatiri Cycle Trail!

Cycle from the majesty of Aoraki Mt Cook, past glacial lakes, rivers, dams, wetlands, farmland and cliffs to the Pacific Ocean. Our days are filled with one breathtaking view after another. The terrain is as varied as the views - we will find ourselves on wide open plains, 4wd tracks and remote backcountry trails. Sometimes you can relax on sealed roads, then you will be challenged on mountain trails and enjoy the thrill of the descents. The favourite part for many is experiencing one of the most magnificent cycle sections in New Zealand, from Tailors Cutting to Lake Benmore Dam. All in all, this trip will give you a sense of adventure and achievement. Relaxation is provided by comfortable accommodation, time for things like a walk around the historic precinct of Oamaru, delicious healthy food, and the lovely community of like-minded women.

On this Ebike tour we ride the best section of the Otago Rail Trail, the Clyde to Alex River Trail, plus the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold Trails. Many artists have tried to capture the distant, dry, tussock-grass-covered hills against the vast, blue sky, or the sea of spectacular autumn colours among the craggy rock formations. Nothing compares and nowhere is there so little car traffic or civilisation - just untouched land and a sense of freedom and space. This cycle tour is also very suitable for inexperienced Ebikers.

An optional day allows you to explore the Fiordland highlights you've always wanted to experience. We enjoy three nights in picturesque Arrowtown, including a relaxing cycle day in the Gibbston Valley wine region, before exploring the famous Lake Dunstan Trail between Cromwell and Clyde. Start and finish in Queenstown means short travel distances, so more time to explore the trails – some a little challenging, mostly easy to manage on an Ebike, but not necessarily cycling for beginners. You will experience seven days packed with highlights and an almost unbelievable variety of landscapes.

You love hiking but prefer shorter walks over a 3-day tramp? Every day of this tour we will enjoy a diverse range of shorter walks (ranging from 20 mins to 5 hours) – first in the beautiful Wanaka area, then we will explore all the best spots on the West Coast, followed by some time in the alpine Arthur’s Pass region. To mix it up we take a water taxi to a special island in Lake Wanaka, go on a very unique jet boat tour up the Waiatoto River – not a ‘thrill ride’ but rather full of adventure and local stories, in one of the most picturesque areas you can imagine. Also included is a guided Kayak & Walk Tour at Lake Mapourika, where we will learn about kiwi conservation, surround ourselves with native bird life and experience the pristine wilderness of a remote part of the West Coast. As always, you can enjoy all of this in the great company of like-minded women, under the skilful guidance of an experienced female guide, and of course, there will be plenty of yummy food!
